Jacquelyn was born and raised in Newark, NJ. She experienced several traumatic events in her childhood, like sexual abuse and the untimely death of her dad. In her adolescence, she continued to face several other challenges that caused her to be stagnant in life and broken as a young woman trying to find her place in the world.
In her early 20's she decided to get a fresh start by moving to the South. Her new environment was the clean slate she needed to focus on getting healing from her past and changing her circumstances.
She spent several years receiving counseling to address her trauma and through that journey she acquired the self-care tools necessary to become emotionally healthy and whole. She served in the Air Force for six years, and that experience broadened her mind to new possibilities about what she could achieve in life. The military helped develop her leadership skills and paved the way for her entrance into pursuing higher education. She considers herself as a life-time scholar and believes if someone is living, they should be learning.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Health Care Administration, and a Master's in Business Administration. She is a Trauma Specialist, and provides counseling and coaching services to individuals dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic event. She is also completing coursework for her Doctorate in Community Care and Counseling with a concentration on Traumatology. She has several certifications including a few in leadership. Her future endeavors include pioneering several entrepreneurial ventures with her husband.
Jacquelyn spent many years being intentional about establishing herself as an individual before focusing on having a family of her own. Leaving a legacy behind is very important to her, but she wanted to wait for the right time and the right person to share her life with. Her patience eventually paid off because in 2021 she met the love of her life!
She met her husband Justin Wilson at church after being introduced to him through a mutual friend. They built a strong friendship for several months, and they soon realized that they both felt more of a romantic connection than just a platonic one.
They explored a dating relationship, and it did not take long before it was clear that the natural progression would be marriage. A few months later, they were engaged, and on February 22, 2022, they became husband and wife in a private ceremony in downtown Greenville. They began attending a local church together shortly after being married, and that congregation has become an extended family to them. They currently serve in ministry together at their church, and one thing they are looking forward to soon is starting a family together.
Jacquelyn's faith in God is the motivating factor for all her endeavors. She loves serving others, and teaching people how to live a life of freedom and abundance in Christ. Her love for the Bible and making its principles applicable for everyday life has led her down a path of ministry, which is expressed in several forms.
Jacquelyn has a plethora of passions including but not limited to singing, writing, acting, dancing, teaching, and serving the less fortunate in the community. She wrote her first book in 2022, and she plans to continue writing to assist people with walking in their destiny and purpose, as well as teaching those suffering with psychological wounds how to overcome their trauma.
Her favorite things to do for leisure is to spend time with family and friends, and to travel around the world. She has been to several countries, and desires to eventually visit every continent. Dubai, Italy, and Cape Town are a few places she desires to visit soon.
